Basil helps to protect your cannabis plantation.

As a companion crop to cannabis, basil attracts butterflies and a number of predatory wildlife beneficial to your crop. The scent of basil in the environment acts as a repellent for spider mites, asparagus beetles, mosquitoes, tomato moths and whiteflies. You can sow it directly in the ground or in a pot and grow it every year from seed. Sow a few seeds on the surface and cover them lightly with substrate mix. Remove the flowers often and cut off the most recent shoots, to get a healthy and strong plant.

Basil, also known as Ocimum basilicum, with its large, soft, shiny and aromatic leaves, is one of the most widely used herbs in the world's cuisine. Easy to care for and especially suitable for spring and summer, its broad leaves mean it can tolerate partial shade and bloom abundantly if allowed to do so.
